Every single time I have hung out with the the kids there, they have touched my life in one way or another. They are so loving. They are adventurous. They are funny, and sweet, and cute, and so many other things. They are kids that make me positive that I want to work with children in the future. Most importantly, they are loved by Jesus.
Here are just a few reasons why I love children:
- They are so innocent. They just live their lives with a smile on their face. That simplicity gives me hope.
- They laugh so much. They laugh way more than any adult I know. Their laughter makes me laugh. And I love to laugh.
- They are so adventurous. They will just try anything.
- They aren't judgmental.
- I'm holding my nephew Judah Jason at the moment and he's just so cuddly and smiley. I love him!
- They are blessings from God.
I have an undying passion to work with kids. I absolutely love them. Sure, they can all be irritating sometimes, but who isn't? Sometimes, I doubt the fact that God has called me to work with children. But then...then He just makes it so clear to me. For instance, every single time I hang out with the kids at the Shell orphanage, I know it's what God wants me to be doing. He makes it so clear to me. And not even just at the orphanage there. He makes it clear to me as I work at the orphanage in Quito, as I help out with kids at different events, and even as I watch kids playing out on the street as I pass by. Working with kids gives me a kind of happiness that I don't get doing anything else. Sure, I'm unbearably happy doing other things such as hanging out with friends and family, but hanging out with kids gives me a different kind of happiness. Sort of like a joyful happiness. The kind of happiness that only God can give me - joy. I can't really even explain it. But, I can tell you that it's certainly a kind of happiness that I would like to obtain for the rest of my life.
I am so ready to answer God's calling.
